College of Medicine and Queen Elizabeth Children’s Hospital, Blantyre, Malawi: August 2017

A site visit to the College of Medicine and Queen Elizabeth Children’s Hospital, Blantyre, Malawi in August 2017 enabled the assessment of current training status and needs in the centre, as well as an opportunity to engage with the trainees and the Faculty College of Medicine leads for paediatric training in Malawi. APFP team members undertook formal and informal teaching, ward rounds and clinical assessments with Malawian paediatric registrars and other junior medical staff. The interactions enabled open discussions about training expectations and needs, including with respect to their upcoming training rotation to South Africa to complete their accreditation as general paediatricians.  See full report here
