St Josephs/Sarah Fox
St Joseph’s Home in Montana, near Cape Town international Airport, is a 140 bed step down facility for children with long term health conditions who require intermediate care before being returning to their homes. It mainly cares for children in the school age group. It has an intensive rehabilitation programme for neurologically injured children such as those with Guillain-Barre syndrome. St Joseph’s Home also houses the Sunflower Ward where young children who have recently started on anti-retroviral therapy for HIV/AIDS are cared for over a short period while their parents are supported in caring for them.
Sarah Fox Hospital in Athlone is a 60 bed intermediate care facility for younger children who require care and rehabilitation following an admission to an acute hospital.
